Default ok.. here's the codes i'm getting now

as most know.. i'm having some real issues with this car now.... though it seems to be running smoothly... main problem i have is the reverse/backup lights stay on in R(everse), N(eutarl) and D(rive), sometimes i can get the white light to turn off if i move the gear shifter all the way down and back upto D(rive), sometimes not.

i got 3 new codes via vag-com (half working at times system)

17688: air control valve (n212): flow too low [P1280 - 35 - 00]

17087: brake switch B circuit malfunction [P0703 - 35 - 00]

00285: ABS whell speed sensor: front right (G45) 30 - 10 open or short to B+ -intermittent

ICSAMERICA-- thinks brake switch issue could be the F125 sensor failing (please say it ain't... that's a tough replacement... not to mention expensive)

i just spent $1500 on repairs and another $500 on tires.. i'm trying not to spend to much more. i'm willing to be a slave to save some cash now, i'm a quick learner

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default regarding the 17087 error, audipages has the following suggestions

The most likely reason why this code comes up is due to the fact that the brake pedal has not been depressed after energizing the ignition. This must be completed once after the ignition is switched on to clear the fault. The Bently has the following note:

Notes for DTC 17087/P0703:

The malfunction is pre-set when the ignition is switched on. The pre-set DTC is erased after the brake pedal has been activated one time if the brake light switch -F- is OK.

Actuate the brake pedal before checking DTC memory so that the pre-set malfunction is erased.

========================================

sooo... what it is that i'm actually suppose to do??? turn on the car and just press hard on the brake pedal?? i'm confused!

Default i always press down on the brake pedal when i start the car

the white/reverse/backup lights though stay on

sometimes if i shift the gear shifter all the way down to 1 and backup to D(rive) the lights will go off

Default Press the brake down BEFORE pulling the code

Then it resets it before the code is pulled. If it shows up after the brake pedal is depressed, then it's something. If it doesn't, then it's nothing.

Slow down and think about this and your other problems.....the answers come, but you need to slow down.

Default ABS fault code

Do you have the ABS light on all the time? Or some of the time? If so, here is your problem below. If not, don't worry about it.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/susp_whls_brake_steer/abstroubleshooting.html">ABS Troubleshooting and Repair</a></li></ul>

Default Air Control Valve

Here is the air control valve, on the front of the engine, it's the thing with the elelectrical connector at the top of the picture:

First thing I would do is to clear the code, drive it for a few days, and check it again.

-------------start troubelshooting procedure--------

Audi &gt; A8/S8 &gt; 1997 - 2003
3.7 &amp; 4.2 Liter V8 4V Generic Scan Tool, Engine Code(s): ABZ, AEW
24 - Multiport Fuel Injection (MFI)Air control valve for fuel injectors, checking Checking Air control valve for injectors -N212- electrically
Disconnect connector at Air control valve for injectors -N212-.
Perform a resistance measurement between the valve terminals using V.A.G 1526 hand multimeter.
Specified value: 15m to 35 ?
If specified value is not obtained, replace Air control valve for injectors -N212-.
Read readiness code =&gt; page AUDI-D3-FU02-ST-003-01ST-50. If DTC memory was erased, readiness code must be generated again =&gt; page AUDI-D3-FU02-ST-003-02ST-53
Checking voltage supply of Air control valve for injectors -N212-.
Test requirement
Fuse for Air control valve for injectors -N212- (E-box in plenum chamber) OK.
Disconnect connector from Air control valve for injectors -N212-.
Connect V.A.G 1527 voltage test lamp between terminal 1 of connector and engine Ground (GND):
Switch ignition on.
Voltage test lamp must light up.
If voltage test lamp does not light up, check wire connection to Power Supply Relay from terminal 1 via fuse for Air control valve for injectors -N212- (E-box in plenum chamber) for open circuit.
=&gt; Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting &amp; Component Locations
If wire connection is OK, check Power Supply Relay for Engine Control Module (ECM) =&gt; page AUDI-D3-FU02-24-007-0124-83.
Checking activation of Air control valve for injectors -N212-.
Connect V.A.G 1527 voltage test lamp between terminal 2 and terminal 1 (B+) of connector (connector at air control valve remains connected).
Start engine.
Note:
With cold engine, voltage test lamp already lights up at idle.
With engine at operating temperature, voltage test lamp lights up only from approx. 1500 RPM.
Voltage test lamp must light up.
Voltage test lamp does not light up.
Connect V.A.G 1598/19 test box to wiring harness for Engine Control Module (ECM) =&gt; page AUDI-D3-FU02-ST-001-03ST-7.
Check wire connection between terminal 2 of connector from Air control valve for injectors -N212-...
...and terminal D4 at Engine Control Module for continuity or short circuit to B+.
=&gt; Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting &amp; Component Locations
Check hose setup of air-encompassing fuel injectors for proper seal or throughput.
If component, wire connection, and hose setup is OK, replace Engine Control Module (ECM) =&gt; page AUDI-D3-FU02-24-001-0824-17 and generate readiness code again =&gt; page AUDI-D3-FU02-ST-003-02ST-53.

Default F125 Symptoms ... it's been a long time let me think ...

&gt;Back Up Lamps stay on almost all the time
&gt;Dipping Passenger Mirror stays dipped
&gt;Dimming Mirror never dims
There are more but I forget.
