AAH vs AFC engine code
Hi
I have a '95 90 Quattro that is needing an engine. I have verified that it is the AFC engine code. I am looking at a 2.8 out of a '97 A4, but don't know if it's compatible and even what the difference is between the two codes???
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Re: AAH vs AFC engine code...
You will want to read through this entire site eventually:
<b><u>12v.org</u></b>
It will give you the technical differences; &
here is a link to where one choice is "Identification"
http://www.12v.org/engine/index.php

Thanks, Lago. I've been out of the VW/Audi scene since the early 90's. Looks like I've got a lot of reading to do. Thanks again.

The A4 will have an AFC, exact same engine, if the A4 is a manual, it even uses the same transmission. Use all of your sensors and harnessing, the A4 will be OBDII, your car is likely OBDI (switch was in 1996 I believe).
The AAH is the older 2.8L engine, first used in the 1992 100, last used in the 1994 100 and 90. It MAY have snuck in to some '95 cars.
