Bilstein B6 sport for the S8
Hi.
Anybody here running Bilstein B6 Sport on their 2001 S8?
If so, how are these compared to the OEM shocks?
And do anyone have a suggestion to a nice price site online for ordering? The dealers here in Norway wants $300 each.
From Bilstein online Catalogue i find 2 different shocks for the front.
Bilstein B6 Sport (to build year 04.00) Front: 24-026093 Rear: 24-026161
Bilstein B6 Sport (from build year 05.00) Front 24-066785 Rear: 24-026161
Since i'm trying to get these from the US (since the price is less then half) i can only find the once for the 2001 model
since the S8 Facelift didnt arrive over there before 2001.
Anybody have a clue if the 01 shocks will fit my 00 S8?
Any help would be very appreciated.

I just ordered a set of bilsteins B6 sports from ecstuning.com....the rears are universal but it says theres a pre-'01 and post '01 set for the fronts......I have an '03 S8 and am anxious to get them on, Ive heard that the bilsteins are maybe 5% stiffer compression than the stock red S8 shocks, which should make them just about perfect in my opinion....I'll give my impressions next week once theyre installed.

From what can see. the 99/00 S8 uses the same shocks as the 99-02 A8 4.2(310bhp)
I would def like to find out the difference...
So i'm gonna do a bit more research before i order.

@slickdesign. What was your impression of the bilstein's on your S8
I'd love to hear your impressions of the Bilstein B6 is compared to the S8 red shocks. So far all I seem to be able to find our people with A8 running them but no one that has run both S8 bed and Bilstein B6 sport on the same car.

Running B6s on my 02 S8
Since I see that you're in Spokane, if you are coming to the ACNA national event in Tacoma in 2 weeks look me up. You're welcome to come for a ride to see how it feels. I'm part of the TTOA 2018 group that's driving over from St Louis to open the event.

I have a Sachs red (OEM sport) and a Bilstein yellow front strut laying around, the Bilstein is way stiffer than the Sachs, which is supposed to be stiffer than the Sachs blacks
Maybe not a B6 Bilstein, I see part number BE5-6678 and the B6 listed as BE5-6678-H0
Anyway super stiff and not fun on the local pothole farms.

I have B6 Bilsteins at all four corners. When you install them, I'd recommend doing the four front upper control arms at the same time and don't cheap out. Buy Lemforder. I road around for to long on worn out CAs, thinking the ride was a bit stiff because of the Bilsteins. Especially over rough roads.
The stiff ride was resolved with new Lemforder CAs.
Good luck.

Thanks for the comments. I'm ordering some tonight.
I am hoping for a slightly stiffer ride, nothing dramatic. I'll go for it. Have a track event on Aug 11th and want it done by then.
