Proper Storage.
We rarely use our A4, opting to use our second vehicle as the primary. We will use the A4 sometimes, but don't always need to use when we do.
The A4 will sit in our unheated garage for weeks at a time in sub zero temps. When we do use it I'm careful to allow enough time for the car to warm up (when the RPM's kick down to under 1000) then off I go driving easy until car has completely warmed up.
I heard that leaving the car sit for extended periods, then starting, will cause premature wear to rings and cylinder walls. Reason being the oil will have drained down to the pan. I was told that I'm better off leaving longer and starting less (use only when car is needed) - does this make sense?
What think you guys?
