Have a look at what the football players from Barcelona drive. They can pick any Audi model they want. Most popular is the Q7 and the most popular engine the 3.0 TDI. Quite surprising for all these guys making several million/year.

Sweet, nice find perlfather! Love the fact Fabregas and Xavi picked the Audi A7 3.0 TDI. Two great soccer players driving a great car. I'll have to bring that up as a fun fact with my friends next time we watch FCB play again.

I've got the TDI model of the A7. Less than a week after I took delivery I drove to SoCal and back for Thanksgiving and that gave me a big boost in average gas mileage. Lately I've started to push the car a little harder testing that 0-60 spec and just getting used to the torque of the motor. That has sent my gas mileage average down.
I'm a bit paranoid now about diesel #2 quality. I came across a pamphlet among the documentation package for the car and it talked about preferred gas stations. I'm not sure if that list applies to diesel fuel or not. Wondering if diesel at Chevron @ $4.00+ is better than Quick Stop @ $3.89 a gallon? Did some research online and my impression is the fuel quality may be better at the preferred gas stations, but does it matter? Are my 0.12mm piezo injector nozzles going to clog up sooner with Quick Stop fuel????
I had a funny thing happen today with my car. I hardly ever use the auto start stop feature. I was driving home with the family and my car chimed at me and flashed a message on the display between the dials saying something to the effect "use the auto start stop feature to save fuel." I thought that was kind of funny. It's as if the car knows I'm not driving it the way its supposed to be driven with the fuel saving diesel engine.

Coming from a Volt and Prius, I enjoy the start/stop feature on my 2013. Nice and quiet, while waiting at a train or long light. Good to know the fumes aren't billowing while standing still, too.
