Default LAST CALL for JUNE DENVER TT RUN "The entire state is on fire", but we're cool!

Denver TT Run for Saturday June 15th.

Last call. Please review the list and let me know if there are any changes.

Meet at the Hog Back Park near the intersection of I-70 & Hwy 26. That's the first exit WEST of C-470 on I-70. The parking lot is on the SOUTH side. It is very easy to find. Going WEST on I-70, exit like you're going to Red Rocks, and it's the first parking lot on the left. Please be there at 10AM. We will depart around 10:45 but no later than 11AM. Should you be a few seconds late you can find us speeding along Hwy 93 to Boulder and Hwy 36 through Lyons to Estes Park.

We have private dining room reservation at Dunraven Downtown for 12:30 under the name Scott Smith.

The Dunraven Downtown
101 W. Elkhorn Ave.
Estes Park, CO 80517

Then it's through RMNP on Trail Ridge Road. Need I say more? I'm sure we'll stop at the visitor's center and anywhere else you can point a camera.

So far, here's who is scheduled to go.

Please review this checklist. It might help you to remember a couple of things beforehand that will make the trip much more pleasant.

TT Run Checklist

Safety First:

1) Always bring a jacket and gloves when going into the mountains.
2) Bring sun screen or proper clothing to protect from sunburn.
3) Make sure your first aid kit is current for those cuts and scrapes.
4) A bottle of water for dehydration.
5) Cell phone if you have one.
6) Let others know if you are sensitive to motion or altitude sickness. (We'll stop to rest).

Preparation:

1) Check your oil level.
2) Check your tire pressure. Most important!
3) Make sure your spare is in good shape.
4) Fill your washer fluid.
5) Fill up with gas on the way to starting point.
6) A clean windshield & headlights make a big difference.
7) Ask questions if you're unsure of the route. We'll have some maps if you need one.
8) Enough cash for lunch so we don't have to use a dozen credit cards.
9) RMNP entrance fee is $10

Comfort:

1) Good protective sunglasses.
2) A stylin' hat. (Roadsters: one that will STAY ON!) No U-turns.
3) Lots of good music. 2002 TT's can easily swap single CD's.
4) If you haven't lived here long, CHAPSTICK!

Etiquette:

1) Run with your regular headlights on. We can see you and other cars tend to get out of the way.
2) FLASH you highs if you need for the group to stop. Even if it's to get a photo of a goat.
3) Tim usually leads. He has the best radar detector. We probably need someone on tail to watch over the group.

Nice to have:

1) Camera with lots of film / RAM. Fresh batteries.
2) Short range FRS (radios). Such as the Motorola Talk about w/ a headset.
3) PDA / Pocket PC for recording things you don't want to forget about others.
4) Radar Detector (if you have one).

I have about eight 4-CD sets of some Anime' soundtracks to hand out for the first 8 that ask. I have 14 really hard-rock, fast-drivin', Road-Rave, Speed-metal, hard-to-describe, get your adrenaline going, photo TT CD's to rock your car. It's so good it's a permanent installment in my TT.

See you on Saturday. This is going to be FUN!

Scott Smith with THE FROG!
